INTENSE PULSE LIGHT (IPL)

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Intense Pulse Laser for Schertz, TX

Intense Pulsed Light Treatment (IPL), also known as intense pulse light treatment, can be used to treat many skin conditions like sun damage, age spots, acne scars, rosacea, wrinkles, and so much more. It does so by keeping the top layer of skin intact and getting into the deeper layer of the skin where most problems live.

IPL is unlike laser treatments because the coverage is much larger which makes treatment a lot quicker. In most cases people see immediate results, and there is no visible reaction on the skin. Some people may look slightly red after treatment,
but it should go down within half an hour.

Before Care

Be sure to heed the following before you come in for your treatment:
  • Protect your skin from UV exposure for 4-6 weeks before treatment. This means no tanning, and you must protect your skin with long clothing, sunscreen, and other preventative measures.
  • Do not apply a fake tan or spray tan for at least 2 weeks before your treatment. Fake tans stain your outer skin cells, which will cause your skin to absorb more of the IPL than is meant.
  • Stop using skin bleaching/depilatory creams for at least one week before IPL treatment.
  • Stop using AHA creams, glycolic or salicylic peels for at least one week prior to IPL treatment.
